Your Pie

I know this is going to sound like a commercial, but I’d like to share with you my favorite pizza place in the area.  It’s called Your Pie and they’re located in Penn Laird.  There are many things I like about this place.  First of all, their pizza is wood-fired.  Also, it’s kind of like Subway where you have a variety of toppings to choose from, and you don’t get charged extra for each topping.  They have one price for your pizza, no matter what you put on it.  To top it off, they have this delicious hot honey that they drizzle over the top that turns an ordinary pizza into an amazing work of art.  I hope they’re able to stay in business, because I really like this place!

Imagine if life was like Your Pie Pizza.  You’d wake up in the morning and choose what your day will include.  You’ll start it off with eggs, bacon and coffee.  Next, it’ll be a leisurely walk with your dog through the neighborhood, followed by a riveting book by the fireplace.  After a tasty wood-fired pizza for lunch, you have an energizing time of volunteering with a local organization.  You spend some quality time with your grandkids after a nice dinner, and then your sports team wins that evening before going to bed.  That may be a “perfect” day for some, but we all have different things that make our heart sing.

But in reality, life is not always like Your Pie.  We don’t always have the luxury of choosing the toppings for the day.  Health issues can get in the way.  Finances can be a problem.  Many of us have jobs or school that greet us each morning.  We can’t always pick what the day will bring, but we can choose how we go about it.  We can choose to live by the words found in Matthew 6: 25-33.  It begins with “Do not worry” and ends with “Seek first the kingdom of God.”  I invite you to take a look at this passage and consider life in the kingdom of God.  We don’t have Your Pie options every day, but we can choose not to worry and know that God is right with us through whatever the day holds.

In God’s peace,
